Pre-Operative Instructions

  • Do not eat or drink at least 8 hours prior to the procedure. Not even water.
  • If there is a change in your general health before the date of the surgery, the patient must notify the office before the appointment date.
  • Please advise our office if you take any routine medications, that are either prescribed or over the counter, prior to your surgery.
  • No Smoking (before or after) the surgery.
  • Wear warm, comfortable, loose-fitting clothing the day of the surgery. Preferably short sleeve.
  • Contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed prior to the surgery.
  • A responsible adult must accompany the patient to the office the day of the procedure and be able to drive the patient home. You will not be able to drive yourself home after the procedure and for at least 24 hours after the procedure. That person must wait in the lobby until the surgery is completed. The surgical procedure will cause temporary dizziness so it is strictly prohibited to operate any type of machinery (including a motor vehicle).
  • If the patient is a minor a parent or legal guardian must be present.
  • Please be on time. If you are not going to be able to keep your appointment due to a personal emergency or illness, please notify our office at least 48 hours in advance.
  • It is important that you take your regular medications using only a very small sip of water, unless the doctor recommended not to take them.

Instrucciones para Preparación de su Cirugía

  • No coma o beba líquidos 8 horas antes de su procedimiento. Ni siquiera agua.
  • Si hay algún cambio en su estado de salud antes de la cirugía, por favor notifique al la oficina antes de su cita.
  • Por favor avise a nuestra oficina si toma algún medicamento de rutinariamente, con o sin receta, antes de su cirugía.
  • Favor de no fumar antes o después de la cirugía.
  • Vista con ropa confortable y cómoda el día de la cirugía. Preferiblemente manga corta.
  • Se deben quitar los lentes de contacto, joyeria, y prótesis dentales antes de la cirugía.
  • Un adulto responsable debe acompañar al paciente a la oficina el día del procedimiento y poder llevarlo a casa. No podrá conducir hasta su casa después del procedimiento ni durante al menos 24 horas después del procedimiento. Esa persona debe esperar en el vestíbulo hasta que se complete la cirugía. El procedimiento causará mareos temporales, por lo que está estrictamente prohibido operar cualquier tipo de maquinaria (incluido un vehículo motorizado).
  • Si el paciente es menor de edad tiene que estar presente uno de los padres o un guardián legal.
